In September, Br. Lawrence Morey was a visitor at Queen’s College. Br. Lawrence is a Trappist from Gethsemane Monastery. He a monk with skills and equipment for video production. He offered to produce a short video on Queen’s College. Our faculty members and students who reviewed the video are very pleased with it. The video is 4.5 minutes. The link is below. Dissertation on Homosexuality and Marriage Equality: One of our students, Rev. Derrick Bishop, has completed his dissertation for the Bachelor of Theology for Discipleship and Ministry on the timely topic Homosexuality and Marriage Equality. His paper provides an excellent background on the issues and he presents findings from a survey with clergy in the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador. A Talk About Silence: Sr. Grace's Remington, a Cistercian (Trappist) nun was a guest at Queen’s College this week. On Wednesday evening she led an inspiring session entitled A Talk about Silence. An Account of Daily Life in a Cistercian Monastery. The session was recorded and is available at the following link. https://youtu.be/axJdwjHYEgk Sr. Grace Remington OCSO studied biology before joining Our Lady of the Mississippi Abbey, a Cistercian monastery in Iowa, USA. She has been a nun there for 22 years.
